On this new 7" John Sharkey gives us two new recordings, one original "Voice Of Love" and a cover of Neil Young's "When You're Lonely Hear Breaks". As fall approaches, Puerto Rico Flowers becomes more and more appropriate. DL
I just ordered this LP like two hours ago from youth attack. Sexdrome mixes elements of raw black metal and that "mysterious guy hardcore" that seems to be all the rage right now, and delivers some very noisy, not so original, but still cool, blackened hardcore. Or something like that. DL
Six songs (duh) from British Columbia's Sex Church. I was hoping to be pretty floored by this release since their first 7" was sooooo awesome. Unfortunately i wasn't. Not bad though for generic darkish-post punk-lo-fi-garagey-hipster-whatever you call it.
DL New 7" from Australia's Lakes. It's really hard to describe the sound of the 4 songs here. It almost gives off a similar vibe to OM, although saying that they sound even remotely similar would be a huge stretch. The songs are blown out and distorted, there is next to no percussion if any at all, and the music is fairly basic. At the same time the subtle melodies and overall catchyness of the songs makes for a really pleasant listen. The song Ancient Moss really stands out. Highly Recommended.
Isolation is the second of two unreleased demos from this San Fransisco lo-fi BM duo. In the Slavonic mythology, the Lascowiec is a woodspirit; a wolf riding atop another wolf, who protects all the wild animals of the woods. There are no track names to be found for this unofficial release.
DL I got to see Jana Hunter's new band Lower Dens this weekend in Baltimore. It was the first show of a month long tour in support of this album. If you get a chance you should definitely check them out.
